Warsaw guide – The new city

It is part of a few posts about Warsaw in 3 days.

If you haven’t read it before you are welcome to read my other posts about Warsaw in 3 days:

  1. Introduction
  2. Old City
  3. Jewish Ghetto
  4. What to do

If it is your first time in Warsaw, my advice to you is to start walking according to the Old city guide before walking to the new part.

The last thing that you should know about the new part is that the new city time in Warsaw begins with the Soviet era and continued with the modernization of Poland.

Marszałka Józefa Piłsudskiego Square

Let’s start The new Warsaw city tour from one of my favorite places in Warsaw- Marszałka Józefa Piłsudskiego Square.

This square is a spacious place, quiet, wide, and calm.

Be there a few minutes and move on

Unknown Polish Soldier Monument

When you are in Pilsudski Square you will notice a small gate (as seen in the picture attached here)

In this gate are standing soldiers from the Polish Guard guarding the monument of the unknown Polish soldier

The Saxon Garden Orgod Daski

Go through the gate toward the Saxon garden Orgod Daski.

In the beautiful garden, you will find a fountain (as seen here), a small lake, special trees that give shade in the summer, and amazing spring growth.

Palace of Culture and Science

The beautiful park is taking you to the next most prominent point in Warsaw.

That is to say, more or less the hi-lite of Warsaw.

The palace of culture and Science was built by Stalin “in honor of” the Poles.

The Poles who for years asked themselves what to do with this unconnected building have become used to it.

As a result, it is an inseparable part of the city’s landscape.

The monument to Janusz Korczak

Surround the palace to the right until you reach the monument to Janusz Korczak.

Janusz Korczak (Yanush Korchak) was a Jew, a prominent physician, and an educator who ran a famous orphanage and went with them to the Nazi camps.

This monument is in honor of one considered one of the greatest Polish nations to this day.

Chopin Pedestrian crossing

After you leave the cultural and science palace complex, head towards the Zloty Tracy Mall

Just before you reach the mall, look at the halfway passage

Have you noticed that it actually looks like a piano keyboard?

A very beautiful memorial in memory of the greatest Polish composer ever – Chopin

The building on Zlota Street 44

Adjacent to the Zloty Terrace is a stunningly beautiful building.

Most important, In my opinion, one of the most beautiful in the world.

Therefore, I would be happy if you liked it on my Instagram Page

The Koneser Complex

The koneser complex, a completely new area in the Praga neighborhood (not to be confused with the city of Prague), exists since 2018.

A modern and beautiful office complex, including a quality restaurant called Zuni (see the section on eating in Warsaw), a café, and a vodka museum.

Warsaw Vodka Museum

The museum, located in the very interesting Koneser complex, presents the history of vodka in Poland.

In the complex, you will find interesting and special vodka bottles, including many local and tasty brands.

The museum tour is highly recommended even if you do not drink vodka at a cost of 40 Zloty.
